PERI AVARI is a Mumbai native and chef, culinary instructor, and food writer with over two decades of experience in the professional food and hospitality industry. She is passionate about elevating Indian cuisine for the global palate while preserving its essence. Her culinary instruction prioritizes clarity and caters to beginners in Indian cooking who enjoy exploring diverse cuisines.
Growing up in a Parsi Zoroastrian family has endowed her with native insights into Parsi food, a unique regional cuisine blending Indian and Persian influences, which she shares through special classes and her easy-to-use products.
Commencing her career at India’s Taj Hotels, Chef Peri has curated menus for state visits of high-ranking dignitaries and international celebrities such as Bill Clinton, Stephen Hawking, Margaret Thatcher, and Elton John. She has also promoted Indian cuisine in China and established food businesses in California’s Silicon Valley.
